Description

G.I.W.U (God Is With Us) Oil

Emmanuel is a Hebrew masculine name meaning "God is with us". It originates from the Hebrew phrase Immanu ("with us") and El ("God").

Inspired by the beautiful moment in Gospel of Matthew Chapter 2, when the wise men arrived with their precious gifts for baby Jesus, this handmade olive oil was created from a place of prayer, peace, and genuine love. Honestly, it feels a little like Christmas in a bottle!

Each one is lovingly handcrafted with rich olive oil, frankincense, myrrh, and delicate gold foil flakes.

It’s simple, meaningful, and just a tiny bit fancy — because if the wise men brought gold, I figured a little sparkle wouldn’t hurt.

Whether you place it in your prayer space, gift it to someone you love, or keep it nearby as a gentle reminder of faith, it carries a peaceful and heartfelt presence.

Holy Spirit inspired and made with care, this blend is a small reminder that the most beautiful gifts are given with love, reverence, and an open heart.

Matthew 2

New King James Version

Wise Men from the East

9 When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. 11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Anointing Oil Prayers

Here are some simple anointing oil prayers you can use. Keep in mind—what carries power is not the oil itself, the Most High God who empowers.

🙏 1. Basic Anointing Prayer

“Father God, I dedicate this oil to You. Let it be set apart for Your purpose. As I use it, let Your presence fill this moment. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

🙏 2. Prayer for Healing

“Lord Jesus, You are the healer. As I anoint with this oil, I ask for Your healing touch—spirit, soul, and body. Restore what is broken and bring wholeness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

🙏 3. Prayer for Protection

“God, I ask for Your covering and protection. Let this anointing represent Your presence over this place, my home, and my life. No harm or darkness can stand against You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

🙏 4. Prayer for Peace

“Holy Spirit, come and bring peace where there is anxiety, confusion, or fear. Let this anointing be a reminder that You are here and You are in control. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

🙏 5. Prayer for Dedication

“Lord, I set this moment apart for You. Let my life, my thoughts, and my steps be consecrated to You. Lead me in Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Olive Oil

In the Bible, olive oil symbolizes the Holy Spirit, divine presence, purity, healing, and joy. It was used to consecrate priests and kings, light the tabernacle lamps, and treat wounds, representing God's blessing and empowerment. The oil is a central symbol of spiritual preparation and God's favor throughout scripture.

Key Biblical Symbolism of Olive Oil:

The Holy Spirit: Olive oil represents the presence, comfort, and sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit. This is exemplified by the "pure olive oil" used in the tabernacle lamps and the parable of the ten virgins, where oil signifies spiritual readiness.

Anointing and Consecration: Olive oil was used to consecrate priests, prophets, and kings (e.g., Aaron, David), symbolizing that they were set apart for God's purposes.

Healing and Comfort: Because of its medicinal properties, oil is used in the Bible as a symbol of healing, compassion, and care, as seen in the parable of the Good Samaritan and in the anointing of the sick.

Abundance and Prosperity: The presence of oil symbolized God's blessing and prosperity, often mentioned alongside grain and wine as a sign of agricultural abundance.

The Messiah: The Hebrew word for Messiah (Mashiach) means "Anointed One," directly connecting to the olive oil used to anoint kings.

Gold

In the Bible, gold primarily represents divinity, holiness, purity, and the glory of God. As a precious and incorruptible metal, it symbolizes God's unchanging nature, divine kingship, and refined faith. It is frequently used for sacred items in the Tabernacle and Temple to denote God's presence.

Key Symbolic Meanings of Gold:

Divinity and Holiness: Gold is associated with God's throne, the Ark of the Covenant, and the inner sanctum of Solomon's Temple, highlighting the sacredness and unapproachable light of God's presence.

Purity and Refinement: Gold signifies spiritual purity. It represents believers being purified and tested through trials, as gold is refined in fire (1 Peter 1:7).

Kingship and Glory: Gold symbolizes royalty and authority (e.g., in Christ's crown in Revelation).

Divine Value and Riches: Gold illustrates high spiritual value and heavenly riches, such as the streets of pure gold in the New Jerusalem.

Reflecting God’s Character: Because gold does not tarnish or rust, it represents God's "unchangeable" and eternal character.

Myrrh

Myrrh was a primary ingredient in the sacred anointing oil used to consecrate Levitical priests, kings, and the tabernacle in ancient Israel, signifying their set-apart status for God. This fragrant resin, often representing humanity and suffering, connects to the priestly role of Jesus as one who offers the ultimate sacrifice.

Biblical Significance: According to Exodus 30:23–25, Moses was instructed to use liquid myrrh, along with other spices, to create the holy anointing oil.

Consecration of Priests: This oil was essential for anointing Aaron and his sons, separating them for priestly service.

Symbolism of Myrrh: Myrrh represents the humanity of Christ, his mortality, and his suffering (as it was used in burial).

The Magi's Gift: The gift of myrrh to infant Jesus signified his role as the ultimate High Priest and his future sacrifice.

Ancient Usage: Beyond priests, it was used for the purification of queens (Esther 2:12) and to perfume the garments of kings (Psalm 45:8).

Frankincense

In the Bible, frankincense is a precious, aromatic gum resin derived from the Boswellia tree, used primarily as holy incense, perfume, and a sacred offering. It symbolizes divinity, prayer, and the presence of God. It is famously known as one of the three gifts brought by the Magi to the infant Jesus.

Key Biblical Aspects of Frankincense:

Significance in Worship: Frankincense was a key ingredient in the sacred incense blend used in the Tabernacle and Temple, as instructed by God to Moses (Exodus 30:34). It was burned to create a fragrant smoke, symbolizing prayers rising to God.

Offerings and Sacrifices: It was used as a required, honored addition to grain offerings (Leviticus 2:1-2).

Symbolism in the New Testament: When the Magi presented frankincense to Jesus (Matthew 2:11), it symbolized the recognition of his deity, royalty, and priesthood.

Definition and Origin: The Hebrew word for it is labonah, meaning "white". It was imported from regions like Sheba (modern-day Yemen) and was considered highly valuable, often compared to gold.

Other Uses: Beyond worship, it was used as a perfume and for medicinal.
